Motel Occupancy Tax

Overview

The City of Lytle collects a 7% Motel Occupancy Tax.* This tax is based on the price of a motel room. This tax usually generates between $25,000.00 to $27,000.00 a year, and represents about 1.5% of the general fund’s revenue.

*The Motel Occupancy Tax must be earmarked for certain purposes, including the advertising and promotions of the city, to attract tourism, construction of civic centers and auditoriums, and other certain specified purposes.
