Alcohol and driving don’t mix. We will aggressively seek out those who endanger our community by operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or intoxicants. Many of our officers have extensive experience and specialized training in the detection and investigation of alcohol-related offenses. We also take part in the various statewide crackdowns on drunk drivers.

Lytle PD officers who completed the 40-Hour Breath Test Analyzer Course are certified to use the Intoxilyzer machine. Prior to this, our officers would have to coordinate with a Department of Public Safety Trooper to operate the intoxilyzer for them. Our officers primarily use the machine located at the Texas Department of Public Safety office in Devine.
