City Council

Overview

A Mayor and five City Council members are elected to the City Council. The Mayor is elected at-large to their position by the voters and serve the entire City, and the five councilmembers (also referred to as Alderman) serve a single member district. They each serve two-year staggered terms. A Mayor Pro-Tem is appointed annually by the Council members.

The City Council’s primary duty is policy making. The council identifies the needs of the city’s residents and provides programs to meet the changing requirements of the community and measure the effectiveness of ongoing services in the city. City Council Meetings

Lytle City Council holds regularly schedule meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at City Hall, 14916 Main Street. Agendas will be published at least three business days prior to each meeting. Minutes are available following approval. The city hots all meetings of the city council live online via its Youtube Channel.
