The City of Lytle
The City of Lytle was incorporated in 1951, and our current population is estimated at 2,800 people. Our City limits extend into three counties:
We are located on Interstate 35 South, about 10 miles south of the San Antonio city limits and 132 miles north of Laredo, TX. Our community is fortunate in that we can still enjoy small town living with all the conveniences of being 25 minutes from downtown San Antonio.
Our Department has an authorized strength of eight full-time officers and six non-paid peace officers, all fully commissioned and certified with full powers of arrest. In February 2012 we added a full-time administrative assistant. Further support is provided by the LPD Civilian Auxiliary Volunteers. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We are a full-service municipal law enforcement agency that is well staffed and equipped to handle most situations, but we are not afraid to call for help when the situation dictates. We strive to provide modern, high-quality equipment and training to our officers, and in turn we expect our staff to provide high quality service to our citizens.
In addition to general law enforcement services we also provide Fire Marshal Services to the City of Lytle and operate a volunteer civilian auxiliary. You can find out more by clicking on the links below.
