Overview
The Patrol Division is the most visible function of our police force. Currently four full-time and six reserve officers are assigned primarily to patrol duties. The Police Chief and Captain Investigator also function as patrol officers when needed.

The Patrol Division performs a wide range of duties including:
  • Patrolling the City to detect and prevent criminal activity
  • Enforcing traffic
  • Answering calls for service
  • Investigating traffic collisions cars with water
  • Responding to emergencies
  • Making arrests
  • Conducting initial investigations

Patrol services are provided, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In the rare event that one of your officers is not available we work closely with other local law enforcement agencies to provide emergency response to our citizens. In turn, Lytle Police Officers respond outside our City when needed to protect life and property.

Patrol is provided for a visible presence and quick response to citizens needs. Patrol is the backbone of any municipal police department, no matter how small or large. The Patrol Division uses a variety of equipment and vehicles to provide service to our community. Inside the Patrol Division, there are numerous special units and assignments that operate on a part-time, as-needed basis.

If you have questions or need to report suspicious activity to the Patrol Division, please call the Lytle Police Department at (830) 709-0277.
