The City of Lytle levies a property tax (ad valorem tax) for maintenance and support of the municipal government of the city and for the interest and sinking fund (debt service).
Ad Valorem taxes in Lytle represent 20%
of the general fund's revenue.
Anyone owning real property in the City of Lytle is responsible for paying Ad Valorem Property Taxes. Taxes should be paid not only to the City of Lytle but also to the school district and the county you reside in. Taxes usually become due the first day of October each year and are payable through January 31 of the following year before becoming delinquent.
